Car accident happened in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand
A major accident took place late last night in Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand. It is reported that a taxi fell into the Kali river at Pangla near Lakhanpur on Dharchula-Lipulekh road. Six devotees died in this accident. Pithoragarh Superintendent of Police Lokeshwar Singh said that the accident occurred late in the evening when devotees were returning after visiting Adi Kailash. He said that due to darkness and bad conditions, the work of recovery of dead bodies has not started yet.

The Superintendent of Police says that the work of searching the dead bodies will be started from this morning. The police officer said that among the victims of the accident, two devotees are from Bengaluru, two others are from Telangana and two persons are from Uttarakhand. Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed deep grief over the road accident and prayed to God to give peace to the departed souls and grant patience to their bereaved families.
3 killed in car falling off road
About 10 days ago, three people from Himachal Pradesh died on the spot when a jeep met with an accident in Chakrata area of Dehradun district of Uttarakhand. According to information received from the police, the accident took place in Patan near Minas, where the jeep coming from Tikri village of Shimla towards Vikas Nagar went out of control and fell about 200 meters below the main road. On receiving information, teams of police and state disaster response force reached the spot and descended into the ditch and pulled out the three bodies trapped in the vehicle. According to the police, the deceased have been identified as driver Rakesh Kumar (26), Surjeet Singh (35) and Shyam Singh (48). He told that the three victims of the accident were residents of Tikri village of Shimla, Himachal Pradesh.
