Voting will be held in Mizoram in a single phase on 7 November, and the counting of votes, i.e. election results, will be declared on 3 December.
Mizoram (Mizoram Assembly Elections 2023) situated in the north-eastern part of the country, Hachek assembly constituency falls within Mamit district in the Mizoram region of the state, which is reserved for the Scheduled Tribes. In the assembly elections of the year 2018, i.e. in the last assembly elections, there were a total of 23772 voters in this assembly seat, and in the last election, Congress candidate Lalrindika Ralte had won by 6202 votes and made her MLA, while MNF candidate Lalrinnanga Selo had won. He could get the trust of 5836 voters, and he was defeated in the election by 366 votes.

Earlier, in the assembly elections held in the year 2013, Congress candidate Lalrinmavia Ralte had won from Hachek assembly seat, and he was supported by 7852 voters. In the 2013 assembly elections, MNF candidate Saikapathianga had received 5519 votes on this seat, and was left at second position by a margin of 2333 votes.
Similarly, in the Assembly elections 2008, Congress party candidate Lalrinmavia Ralte had received a total of 6990 votes in Hachek Assembly constituency and won, while MNF candidate H. Lallenwela stood second as he got 4373 votes. He could get only 100,000 support, and he lagged behind in the assembly elections by a margin of 2617 votes.
The Congress, which was in power for a long time, had to face defeat in the elections held in Mizoram state of North-East India in the year 2018, i.e. Assembly elections 2018. In the 40-member assembly, Mizo National Front (MNF) had won the maximum 27 seats, while Congress had won only four seats. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and independent candidates had won on eight seats. Mizo National Front president Zoramthanga became the Chief Minister of the state after his party’s landslide victory in the assembly elections. It is noteworthy that in the 2013 elections, the Congress Party got a landslide victory in the state, and its candidates won 34 out of total 40 seats in the state. Earlier, in the 2008 elections also, the Congress Party had hoisted the flag of success. Mizoram is one of the eight north-eastern states of India. It was formed as the 23rd state of India on February 20, 1987. Before this it was a union territory.
