China has removed Li Shangfu, who was missing for the last several months, from the post of Defense Minister. According to local media reports in China, he was also removed from the post of State Counsellor. According to CCTV reports, the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress also voted to remove former Foreign Minister Qin Gang from the post of State Councilor.

The committee appointed Yin Hejun as China’s Minister of Science and Technology and Lan Fon as Finance Minister.
