The last lunar eclipse of the year is going to occur on the night of 28 October. This lunar eclipse can be seen at midnight on Saturday, October 28. The day of October 29 will start after 12 noon and this eclipse is going to last from 1:05 am to 2:24 am. Its total time will be approximately 1 hour 19 minutes. This will be a partial lunar eclipse and it will be visible from Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, America, Pacific, Atlantic and Indian Ocean.

Moon and Goddess Lakshmi cannot be worshiped during Sutak Kaal. The last lunar eclipse of the year can be seen from India, hence its Sutak period will be valid. Therefore, worship on this day should be done either before the Sutak period or after the lunar eclipse is over.
It is believed that on the day of Sharad Purnima, Goddess Lakshmi visits the earth. For this reason, prayers and mantras are usually chanted throughout the night. A lamp is lit in the temple and the mantras of Goddess Lakshmi are chanted 108 times. Gatte rosary is used for chanting. Arghya can be offered to the Moon before the lunar eclipse occurs or after the eclipse ends.
