Lunar Eclipse 2023: A total of 4 eclipses were to occur this year, out of which 3 eclipses have already occurred and the fourth eclipse is occurring on Saturday night, 28th October. This is also going to be the last lunar eclipse of this year. An eclipse is an astronomical phenomenon in which the Earth comes between the Moon and the Sun. During an eclipse, sometimes the Moon appears red and sometimes some part or the entire part appears dark. When will the lunar eclipse occur? Chandra Grahan Time

The lunar eclipse occurring at midnight on 28th October is going to be a partial lunar eclipse. This eclipse will take place after 12 o’clock due to which the next day i.e. 29th October will start. The time of lunar eclipse will be 1:05 am to 2:24 am on October 29. This eclipse will last for a total of one hour and 19 minutes. A partial lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth’s shadow falls only on some part of the Moon. This is called Khandagras or partial lunar eclipse.

Will the lunar eclipse be visible from India?

This lunar eclipse can be seen from Australia, Asia, Europe, Africa, Eastern South America, North Eastern North America, Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean and Indian Ocean. This eclipse will be visible in Asia, due to which it can be seen from India also.

Sutak period will start or not

According to religious belief, Sutak period is considered inauspicious. Sutak period starts hours before the eclipse. During this period, there are many small and big works including auspicious works which are prohibited to be done. Sutak period will start from 4:06 pm on 28th October. Lunar eclipse is taking place on the day of Sharad Purnima, due to which Goddess Lakshmi is worshiped on this day on religious grounds.
